Referencing the highly influential case study house programme of the 1950s and 60s we are pleased to reveal designs for a contemporary detached bungalow set in a backland site in South Oxfordshire. The site has beautiful sloping views over the surrounding countryside.

The arrangement of the house on the site is designed to minimise overlooking of existing properties. By utilising the levels on the site the proposed dwelling will be sunk below the garden of 17 Stoke Row Road. Internally, the primary living spaces are to be positioned to the rear of the property, with larger windows maximising daylight and views into the garden. These living spaces will have access via sliding doors to the south westerly facing private garden.

The dwelling is orientated with the main elevations facing north easterly & south westerly.

It is proposed to utilise a “Bauder” or equivalent approved extensive green (warm) roof system with a Sedum cover to create a range of wildlife and plant habitats. This will also help assimilate the proposed dwelling into the landscape when viewed from the properties along Stoke Row Road.
